WELCOME TO THE MICHIGAN SPORTS HALL OF FAME 

  The Michigan Sports Hall of Fame has honored the most influential figures in the history of Michigan athletics.This year is no exception,as another class of inductees will be enshrined, thereby preserving their legacy for future generations.

Future plans for the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame call for a long-term home to be opened in time for the Super Bowl in 2006 to showcase the incredible athletes who have been enshrined.In addition to showcasing memorabilia from the career of the members,the new Hall will be highlighted by interactive displays that will help to preserve the rich history of sports in the state of Michigan.













The Michigan Sports Hall of Fame is a 501(c)3 organization. It is comprised of 220 former champions, medallists, and great contributors to the world of sports. The original organizers were Lt. Governor Philip A. Hart, Michigan State University Athletic Director Biggie Munn, Donald Weeks, President of the Greater Michigan Foundation, W. Nicholas Kerbeway, General Manager of the Detroit Lions and George Alderton of the Lansing State Journal who conceived of the project.
