Michael "King of the Amateurs" Adray
Internationally known as USA's foremost sponsor of amateur sports. His Adray sponsorship uninterupted since 1956 when a 12-year-old boy asked him to sponsor half a baseball team, which grew to hundreds of teams & leagues in baseball, softball, hockey, basketball, LaCrosse, swimming & wrestling clubs. Many of his young players are in the Major Leagues today. Among honors: 1973 All America Amateur Baseball Congress "National Sponsor of the Year," 1975 Michigan Recreation & Parks Association citation; 1979 "Certificate of Service," to amateur baseball by U.S. Baseball Federation. Board Member & Past President All America Amateur Baseball Association. Inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 1983.
