Jane "Peaches" Bartkowicz

A native of Hamtramck, "Peaches" Bartkowicz collected 17 age group titles before turning professional, making her one of the premier junior tennis players in the history of the game. At the 1968 Olympics in mexico City, she won a silver medal in women's singles play, and bronze medals in women's doubles and mixed doubles. During her professional career, she won 14 tournaments and achieved her highest world ranking of 8th in 1969. Inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 2002.
