Henry Carr

Carr was a star athlete at Detroit Northwestern High School and Arizona State University. A World class sprinter, he won two gold medals at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics by winning the 200 meter dash and anchoring the victorious U.S. 1,600 meter relay team. In 1963 and 1964, he was ranked number one in the world and set world records in the 2000, 220 and 1,600 meter relay. He was enshrined into the National Track and Field Hall of Fame in 1997. Inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 2000.
