Chalmers "Bump" Elliott

Elliott's career at the University of Michigan spanned three decades as both a football player and a coach. He has the rare distinction of winning a Big Ten Championship and Rose Bowl in both capacities. Elliott was a two-way player for the Wolverines and won conference MVP and All-American honors in 1947 as a halfback for the National Champions. He collected 51 wins as a head coach at Michigan, placing him sixth in career wins for the university at the time of his induction. Following his coaching career, he served as Athletic director for the University of Iowa (1970-1999). He was inducted into the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame and College Football Hall of Fame in 1989 and the National Iowa Varsity Club Hall of Fame in 1997. Inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 2002.
