Lance Parrish

During his 19-year career, catcher Lance Parrish cemented his place in major league history as a great two-way player. Parrish played for the Philadelphia Phillies, California Angels, Seattle Mariners, Cleveland Indians, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Toronto Blue Jays, but his greatest years were spent behind the plate for the Detroit Tigers. The eight-time All-Star was an impressive backstop for his batterymates as he put together a .991 lifetime fielding percentage. During his career, Parrish collected 324 career home runs. In 1984, he helped to lift the Tigers to the World Championship. Inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 2002.
