Van "The 'Ol Announcer" Patrick

Known as the radio voice of the Lions and Tigers. He broadcast the Tigers for 10 years beginning in 1951, and served in the booth for the Lions from 1950 until his death in 1974. Served as Director of Sports for the Mutual Broadcasting System, a sports anchor for WJBK-TV in Detroit and the voice of Notre Dame football for many years. The Texas native was also involved in the business side as an owner of several radio stations. Inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 1991.
