Robin Roberts

Following a great baseball and basketball career at Michigan State University, Roberts went on to an 18 year Major League career with the Phillies, Orioles, Astros and Cubs. He was the ace of the 1950 pennant winning Phillies "Whiz Kids." He won 286 games including 234 with Philadelphia. He compiled six consecutive 20 victory seasons including 28 in 1952. During his career he struck out 2,357 batters, twice leading the National League in strikeouts. Five times he led the league in innings pitched and in complete games. He started 5 All Star games. He was enshrined into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1976. Inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in1999
